Our Story

Sound of Salvation Ministries began as a calling to serve those who faced food insecurities. The very first food box was left anonymously on a doorstep one Christmas Eve. That first food box became an annual tradition. That tradition became a greater calling to serve more of those who faced food insecurities.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Mission Plan

Phase One

Transition from a private, personal

ministry to a 501(c)(3) organization

(completed 11/2023)

Phase Two

Part one is to form partnerships with other local non-profits and agencies. Part two will consist of four quarterly community projects. Part three includes the acquisition of a cargo trailer to help grow our outreach resources. Part four is to file for local and national grants to support the ministry. Each of these parts can be done independently of the others. We will continue to form new partnerships throughout the life of the ministry.

(ongoing)

Phase Three

will consist of the acquisition of a larger vehicle in which we can bring the ministry directly to rural communities. The onsite programs will include a mobile pantry, a mobile office for ministry/ coaching outreach*, and a mobile disaster services resource unit. These will be combined into a multifunctional unit that can function as all three based on circumstances. Phase Three will convert the cargo trailer into a deployable unit for a modified Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Phase Four

will add resources for ministerial / lay training for those who seek deeper understanding and relationship Christ. We will partner with local churches and ministries to help them serve their members and communities.

*The ministry/ coaching outreach will be basic services with referrals to other agencies or appropriate services (health, mental, and social programs) Referrals will also include local churches that fit their individual/ family needs.
